Kathleen Bastedo’s undergraduate degree is in Occupational Therapy from Utica College, Utica New York. After working for over 10 years as an occupational therapist, her interest changed to assistive technology. Ms. Bastedo then worked at the Assistive Technology Educational Network of Florida (ATEN) for over eight years. While in this position, she participated in a statewide initiative to provide assistive technology assessments, training, and technical assistance in the area of assistive technology. In addition, Ms. Bastedo developed equipment tutorials and workshop training materials, contributed to the book review section of the ATEN newsletter, the Keyhole Communique, and has taught and published regarding how to create accessible Web pages.
She obtained a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction (with a specialization in Instructional Design) from the University of South Florida in 1997, she also obtained a certification in Assistive Technology.
She has worked as an instructional designer at Granite State College in New Hampshire and is currently employed at the University of Central Florida (UCF) as an instructional designer in Course Development and Web Services.
Her goals at UCF include assisting instructors in creating and delivering interactive and accessible online courses.
