Digital Media Specialist

Our Digital Media Design Team is looking for part-time student Graphic Designers. Preference will be given to Graphic Design and other art majors. Must have a portfolio containing a variety of work which will demonstrate the applicant's level of talent. Should have a working knowledge of Photoshop and basic computer competency. Must be able to work in a team environment and have good interpersonal and communication skills. Flexible hours, Monday through Friday, 15-20 hours per week.

Instructional Technology Assistant

Course Development & Web Services (CDWS) is seeking to fill two (2) Instructional Technology Assistant (ITA) positions for the Instructional Technology Group. ITAs assist the Technology Support Specialist (TSS) in various activities and projects to support faculty teaching online courses at the University of Central Florida. A willingness to become an active and vital team member is essential. As a member of the ITG, a strong working knowledge of browsers and the WWW is required along with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, IE, PowerPoint) and troubleshooting skills. Basic knowledge of Webcourses@UCF and HTML is a plus. Superior people skills and professional communication are required.

This position will focus on providing technical support via phone, email, and face-to-face sessions for UCF faculty and staff who teach online. Training is supplied, but prior experience is preferred.

Hours are flexible, Monday through Friday. Minimum of 20 hours a week preferred.

Techranger

The Techrangers are a team of student web developers that have been recruited from various technical, design, and honors programs. They develop web based applications, provide technical support, contribute to training sessions, and serve as student advocates within Course Development & Web Services. The Techrangers look for students that have strong troubleshooting skills and an advanced understanding of web design, HTML, CSS, and various programming languages.

Assistant Instructional Designer

Assistant Instructional Designers work with the full-time Instructional Design staff to support online faculty at UCF. Tasks may include collaborating in the creation of new training materials, revising/updating existing training materials, processing work requests, researching information/technologies under the supervision of an Instructional Designer. Skills needed include: teamwork, word processing and spreadsheets, using browsers and searching the Internet, written and verbal communication.

Assistant Web Strategist

The Web Strategy Team is looking for a part-time team member (20 hours weekly) to assist us with our efforts. Learning opportunities include handling our AskUCF knowledge database requests, customer support with UCF daily newsletter maintenance, working on special projects on an as-needed basis (i.e., Web sites, myUCF research, UCF.edu, etc) and assisting Web Strategists with projects.

Computer Infrastructure Assistant

The Advanced Systems Infrastructure Group is looking for a part-time group member (16-20 hours weekly). The Computer Infrastructure Assistant will be responsible for computer administration tasks (software installation, hardware installation, user troubleshooting, server maintenance) within the department. The applicant should possess two years of relevant computer administration experience, preferably in a networked environment, proficiency in Windows XP and Macintosh OS X and finally familiarity with Windows Server, UNIX and popular Microsoft and Adobe desktop products.

Instructional Development Assistant

Instructional Development Assistants work with full-time Instructional Development Specialists to develop web-based just-in-time instructional materials, including interactive multimedia components. Tasks may include designing storyboards, identifying learning objectives, developing assessments that align with stated learning objectives, collaborating with subject matter experts, developing interactive multimedia (using tools such as Captivate or Flash), and conducting research. Strong candidates will have experience developing instructional materials and authoring interactive multimedia components for instructional systems. Knowledge and experience with the following Web development technologies are a plus: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, Flash, ActionScript, and Captivate.

IDAs are expected to work 15-20 hours per week. We offer flexible schedules during a Monday-Friday work week.

New Media Developer

The New Media team is looking for team players eager to create rich interactive media, conduct research, and develop creative applications targeting the Web, mobile devices and other emerging technologies. We need members with skills in programming and an understanding of visual design and production. Our primary tools are Flash, Flex, mySQL, PHP, Photoshop and Illustrator. In addition, team members facilitate lab sessions, deliver demos and presentations on a variety of new media topics, provide technical support, among other responsibilities.
